Women and Stimulant Use: Current Trends and the Impact on the User's Brain and Body

This presentation will describe the local and national scope of stimulants (cocaine and methamphetamine). The mental health and physical health consequences of stimulant use will be presented, including information on the impact of stimulant use on the brain and cognition.

 

Objectives:

  1. Describe the patterns and trends of stimulant use, both locally and nationally.
  2. Describe the mechanism of action of methamphetamine and cocaine.
  3. List at least three short-term and three long-term effects of stimulant use.
