This DEI Deconstructed Book Club learning collaborative will focus on the implementation of DEI practices and moving from “good intentions to actionable outcomes” for community-based organizations, clinical providers, and individual community leaders. This new knowledge base developed through the learning collaborative will complement the CLA/CLAS Standards and help move our efforts to the next level! 

 

 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

  • Learn to define DEI through measurable outcomes.
  • Discuss the impact of DEI on stakeholders.
  • Process the impact of power and trust on DEI/organizational change. 
  • Explore the connection between identity, difference, and stewardship of DEI.
  • Plan implementation and sustainability of DEI in their organization.

Harold Gates, MSSW, CISW, HS-BCP, President, Midwest Center for Cultural Competence, LLC

Harold Gates is the president and co-founder of the Midwest Center for Cultural Competence, LLC, which was established in 2003. The Center provides training, education, and consultation for organizations that are seeking to provide culturally and linguistically appropriate services, with the goal of helping to create a culturally competent multicultural community.
