Join us for an event that will bring higher education leaders, Tribal and New Mexico government leaders, and community leaders together to support the successful re-entry of returning citizens to their communities by offering a pathway to professional addiction counseling licensure and ultimately support successful reintegration.
Participants will examine issues specific to New Mexico Correctional Department (NMCD), New Mexico Regulation & Licensing Department in context of providing alcohol and drug addiction/misuse counseling degree coursework within the NMCD. As well as identify multiagency, solution-focused strategies to implement addiction counseling degree plans in partnership with the NMCD and higher education, while also exploring regional pathways toward expansion and sustainment of Associate of Arts degree plans in Chemical Dependency Counseling (or related degree) in NMCD facilities utilizing higher education, workforce development and community alcohol and drug treatment providers.
Travel support and coordination will be available to those who qualify. For more information on qualifications, please contact Liz Flint at [email protected].
Sponsored by the SSW ATTC, in partnership with the New Mexico Department of Corrections and hosted by New Mexico Highlands University.
