The conceptual foundation of ethics represents an inherent and essential framework for behavioral health, including clinical social work. While assuming all ethical standards and professional codes of ethics represent identical approaches to care, however, significant differences exist. In this presentation, emphasis is given to examining personal values and ethical concepts, contrasting those personal beliefs to professional codes of ethics, and determining appropriate approaches to clientele. In addition, given the demands within behavioral health, boundary crossings as well as boundary violations receive prominent focus and attention. This presentation will engage participants in a multi-media, multi-sensory format, teaching to all styles of learning. Case study material and video clips from various health care disciplines will be presented along with didactic material that addresses both the conceptual and practical levels.
"Ethics for Behavioral Health Professionals" meets the qualifications for the provision of six CE credits/contact hours. The Great Lakes ATTC is an approved provider of continuing education through the National Association of Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselors (NAADAC).
This training is for the behavioral health workforce.
