Peer Recovery Support Services Training: How to Implement & Supervise

This training will provide insight into best practices for implementing and supervising
Peer Recovery Support Specialists into a program.

 

Training Description: This training will provide individuals with an overview of Peer Recovery Support and its role in Oklahoma's behavioral health system. The training will also provide insight into best practices on implementing Peer Recovery Support Specialists into a program as well as best practices on the supervision of Peer Recovery Support Specialists.

This training event is supported by Oklahoma Behavioral Health Association

 

3 CEU'S will be available to LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LADC, CPRSS, CPS, and CM's.

OBHA Members attend for free. Non-OBHA Members can register for $45.

 

Trainers:

MJ Clausen, Director of Workforce Development, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

M.J. Clausen has been working in the mental health field for 16 years. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Professional in Human Resources, and Certified Peer Recovery Support Specialist. M.J. has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings with private and non-profit organizations. She has implemented and supported programs that serve persons experiencing homelessness as well as persons with severe mental illness living in supportive housing. M.J. currently serves as the Director of Workforce Development at the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services where she works with peer recovery support, case management, and wellness training specialists as well as the Employee Assistance Program which provides help to many state employees across Oklahoma. M.J. enjoys any opportunity to abolish stigma, dancing, meditation practice, eating Mexican food, spending time with family and friends and learning new things.

Jae Jackson McConnell, Program Manager, PRSS and Behavioral Health & Wellness Division, Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services

Jae Jackson McConnell, MS, CTTS is the program manager of the PRSS and Behavioral Health and Wellness Division. Having been with ODMHSAS for 14 years, she has experience working with a variety of populations on a variety of topics including mental health, substance use disorder, opiate overdose education, tobacco cessation, suicide prevention, physical activity & nutrition, and wellness. In her spare time, Jae enjoys running, reading, and chasing after her 2 rambunctious little boys.
