August 19, 2022

Utah Support Advocates for Recovery Awareness

Utah Recovery Day Celebrations

Utah’s recovery community will join in celebrating National Recovery Month by highlighting four dimensions that support a life in recovery from substance use disorders: health, home, community, and purpose. The 19th annual Salt Lake Recovery Day celebration held on September 10, 2022, supports and empowers individuals in recovery and recognizes the contributions of family members, service providers, and allies who come together to raise awareness that together we can recover from addiction by creating hope, healing, and health through many pathways.

This event brings the recovery community together to remember those who have been lost due to addiction. We set up luminaries around the baseball field and have a quiet remembrance for those not with us.

Each Friday we will visit a local coffee shop, and for one hour Rimrock will buy everyone coffee who is in recovery or supporting someone in recovery.

September 17: Yoga on the Rims
A local yoga teacher also in recovery will teach yoga on the rims to anyone in recovery or supporting anyone in recovery.

September 29: The Grand Finale - A Community Dinner
This fun outdoor event will host a free dinner for those in recovery or supporting someone in recovery.  People in recovery will have purple t-shirts and those supporting will have teal colored t-shirts.
