In partnership with Brown University SciToons and the Department of Emergency Medicine, the New England ATTC created the product "Opioid Overdose Rescue: 5 Ways to Save the Life." This educational video teaches the viewer how to recognize an overdose and how to effectively intervene. Watch the video to learn more. 

The Naloxone is an Act of Love website was developed with support by the New England Addiction Technology Transfer Center (ATTC) in partnership with the Center of Biomedical Research Excellence (COBRE) on Opioids and Overdose. The website hosts a suite of resources designed to reduce stigma surrounding the use of naloxone and those who experience an opioid overdose along with encouraging viewers to get trained in and carry Naloxone. Specific resources include narrative videos, posters, and coasters. 

The New England ATTC is proud to partner with the New England PTTC and New England Association of Recovery Court Professionals to host the webinar, "Cannabis in the Era of Commercialization - Part 2" for criminal justice, admins, and recovery support professionals.   This presentation took a deeper look at what is happening with cannabis policy in New England, examine the potential implications for risk factors associated with cannabis use disorder, and what the emerging science is telling us in terms of how to reduce harm for those who may be using cannabis.  View the recording from the Cannabis in the Era of Commercialization by clicking on the view resource button above. The New England ATTC was proud to partner with the Rhode Island Department of Health; Substance Use and Mental Health Leadership Council; Rhode Island College School of Nursing; Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth, and Families; and the Department of Behavioral Healthcare, Developmental Disabilities, and Hospitals to sponsor the 4th Annual Rhode Island Substance-Exposed Newborns Conference. The New England ATTC in partnership with the New England Association of Recovery Court Professionals hosted the webinar, “Team Dynamics in Treatment Courts” on November 17, 2021 from 12:00 to 1:30 with subject matter experts, Honorable John M. Julian, Michelle Verdieu-Williams, Stephen Von Sitas, MS, and Heather Scheiwe Kulp.  Treatment courts are successful because of the strong team approach to responding to client behavior. But, what happens when team members slip into old habits and the team struggles to consistently apply best practices? During this session, you will hear from team members on how to strengthen the team relationship, how to ensure each member understands their role on the team, and how to improve communication and collaboration on your teams.

Moderators Dr. Haner Hernandez, Michele Stewart-Copes, and Daryl McGraw introduced four recovery-oriented community-based organizations that serve historically marginalized communities: Recovery Support Services; New Life II Ministries; Stairway to Recovery; and STEPRox Recovery Support Center. The New England ATTC, in partnership with the New England Association of Recovery Court Professionals (NEARCP), is continuing to offer a bi-monthly targeted technical assistance series for justice professionals to advance the treatment of persons with or at risk of substance use disorders involved in the justice system. This is the webinar recording of the training session titled, "Complex Cases Facing Drug Courts" presented by Helen Harberts, M.A., J.D., and Brian Meyer, Ph.D., LCP, took place on June 16th at 12PM EST. During this webinar, the panel discussed several actual cases from New England Drug Court Programs involving participants who have struggled with drug court program requirements and whose behavior has been especially challenging for the drug court team to manage and address successfully. Experts provided their recommendations on whether sanctions were appropriate, whether the team was considering all treatment options, and whether a termination was appropriate.

This video provides an overview of the New England ATTC's mission, catchment area, strategic operations, and strategic advice for other training and technical assistance centers. It was recorded as an orientation for new International TTCs but has broad relevance for all audiences interested in learning more about the New England ATTC. 

This set of training slides addresses fundamental principles of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for Teen Substance Use. It defines the CBT triangle, introduces several core skills, and provides concrete examples of how to apply the skills in clinical practice.
