Mid-America ATTC has developed a 2018 version of the Hepatitis Awareness Month (May) Info Sheet and Bulletin Insert. Side one has been updated to focus on the dual epidemics of the opioid crisis and hepatitis C virus (HCV). Although the document was initially designed for the faith community, it is appropriate as an educational flyer for much broader audiences. This presentation discusses task shifting as a means of addressing severe mental illness. The presentation details two task shifting models supported by the South Africa HIV ATTC: (1) treatment partner (TP), psychoeducation, and m-health intervention; and (2) community health worker (CHW) mental health training intervention.

This interview monograph, developed by the ATTC CoE-PPW, features the unique perspectives of leaders in the pregnant/postpartum women's treatment and recovery field. Through policy, research, and practice lenses, these leaders share how the field has broadened its scope to begin serving the whole family. Addiction is a family disease. Yet mothers are often treated in isolation from their children and partners, having to choose between getting treatment and keeping their families together. One revolutionary program in Compton, California lets women bring them all -- fathers/partners and children of all ages -- to experience the recovery journey together. "Bring Them All" tells the story of family-centered care through the perspectives of clients and staff at SHIELDS for Families.

Co-occurring disorders (CODs) occur frequently and can significantly impact mother and child. In this webinette, Dr. Cooke will present information on the significance of CODs and their risk factors; discuss the importance of repeat screening, appropriate referral, and coordinated treatment; and share the safety profiles of the various medications available to treatment CODs and how to take in account the risks to mother and child.

The main focus of the training is the integration of mental health and substance use disorder treatment services with HIV care.

The purpose of this introductory training curriculum is to provide HIV clinicians (including, but not limited to physicians, dentists, nurses, and other allied medical staff, therapists and social workers, and counselors, specialists, and case managers) with an overview of alcohol and HIV. Also included the training product is a detailed trainer guide and 2-page fact sheet for HIV clinicians.

In recognition of the 2009 Recovery Month, the National Office, in partnership with the Association of Recovery Schools (ARS), held an essay contest to celebrate student recovery and highlight the work of recovery schools. This booklet highlights the first, second and third place recovery high school and college award-winning essays, as well as nine additional receiving honorable mentions.
