The Mountain Plains (Region 8) ATTC collaborated with SAMHSA Region 8 Regional Administrator, Dr. Charles Smith, to offer a webinar for members of the Region 8 Substance Use Disorder Team. This webinar, titled Stimulant Use: Current Trends, Impact on the Brain, and Implications for Treatment and Recovery, was delivered by Dr. Thomas Freese and Ms. Beth Rutkowski (Co-Directors of the Pacific Southwest ATTC) on July 30, 2020. This 90-minute webinar presentation covered the following topics:

• Regional and national scope of stimulant use
• Acute and chronic mental health and physical health consequences of stimulant use, including information on the impact of stimulant use on memory and cognition
• How to implement effective behavioral treatment interventions with people who use stimulants and the necessary adaptations needed to engage and retain people in care
