As of November 21, 2019, the use of e-cigarettes (e-cigs) and vaping devices have been associated with over 2,200 serious lung injury cases and 47 deaths in 25 states. In response to the increase in lung injuries and deaths associated with the use of e-cigarettes and vaping devices, the MPATTC created a new slideDecks4U titled “Overview of Electronic Cigarettes and Vaping Devices” that can easily be infused into academic courses, continuing education workshops, and/or other knowledge awareness presentations.
This slide deck provides an overview of the problems associated with the use of e-cigs and vaping devices and specific recommendations from the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC); the Food and Drug Administration (FDA); the Office of the Surgeon General (OSG); the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA); and the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
In addition to this slide deck, you can review the “Great American Smokeout 2019 & Special Edition: Update On Vaping” for more details and to join the conversation. This blog post is written by one of the co-authors of the slide deck.
