In this video, the client, Shawn Adams, stopped taking buprenorphine and experienced a return to substance use while attending an intensive outpatient program (IOP). The IOP therapist referred Shawn to the doctor for a medication consult. This interview demonstrates how the physician engages the client and motivates them to restart medications for the treatment of an OUD. Includes education about how and when to restart the medications and follow up.
